First Read of the Week!

Star Wars: Purge - The Hidden Blade

Having disobeyed orders and displeased his Emperor, Darth Vader has been dispatched to the far reaches of the Empire to oversee the construction of a contingent of armoured walkers -- hardly a task worthy of Vader's extensive array of skills. But when rumours reach him that the local band of rebels are harbouring a Jedi among them, Vader abandons his post to search the jungles of the planet... but in his bloodlust, has Vader lost sight of who is the true hunter here?

It's always great when Dark Horse visits the post-Revenge of the Sith period for stories of Darth Vader and his all-consuming hatred of the Jedi, and The Hidden Blade is no exception! Artist Chris Scalf might have a short Star Wars resume, but that doesn't make his work here any less impressive -- and it's a perfect accompaniment to Haden Blackman's sharp little self-contained script. Highly recommended!
