Drac's Back!

Dig out that garlic, sharpen up those stakes and arm yourself with the holy symbol of your choice -- Count Dracula is coming back in a big way, courtesy of Boom! Studios and prolific writer Kurt Busiek. In a press release this week, the folks at Boom! let us in on their plans to return the King of the Vampires to monthly comics in his first ongoing series since Marvel's undisputed 70s classic, The Tomb of Dracula. The new book, subtitled The Company of Monsters, finds the Count targeted by one of the world's most powerful corporations... but they don't want to kill him, they want to buy him! Is the Count really for sale... or have they bitten off more than they can chew? (I know, I know, that was awful... but somebody had to say it!)

This uniquely modern spin on the classic horror icon will be hitting the shelves at Curious Comics this August. You can read all about Dracula: The Company of Monsters in the press release from Boom! Studios or in the latest copy of Diamond Comics Previews - now available at Curious!

Am I the only one that misses Dracula as being one of the most romantic stories ever told? Well, I guess ya gotta actually read the book...
